After a successful radio interview, that plays today (KLCC's new format "The Takeaway") tonight is the grand launch of the railroad book at Pfelffer Vineyard. Come catch a wooden train whistle and blow, as we roll the clock back to 1929 and call out the "Gentry," the locomotive of the Horton Railroad; calling it out of retirement to make one more run down the wooden tracks and back to Horton. I will lead a short history lesson to help participants tonight understand the men and women of the 1920's; between sips of great wine (I always wondered why my parents ended up like they did).

Life is made for a costume—in my opinion. So, part of the dress-up has to be a great hat. However, although it feels good to me (as I tuck it on by clicking the keyboard) it has to look delightful to anyone else who chooses to gaze at my work. I believe the visual arts are poorly represented in the new electronic media that most authors publish in today. In my first self-published novel, I purposely ran counter to that trend by including a host of visuals: great cover, poetry (thankfully not my own, although I did take a shot at it) sketches and photos.
