This is rare footage of one of the few steam powered saw mills still in operation. The mill in Horton, Oregon would have cut 2 X 8 planks and Ballast timbers for the wooden railroad's tracks in similar fashion. Special thanks to historian Earl Kelley, (pictured in the slide show) the Hull-Oakes Lumber Co. ownership and Randy Beiderwell of Alpenglow Video Productions in Eugene who shot the video. Located in Alpine, Oregon, not far from Horton, the mill is generally not open to the public while in operation.
